The hotel is located in the historical center of Prato, the second city of Tuscany per number of inhabitants, on a 19th Century building (Palazzo Martelli), in a quiet area and close to the main monuments, museums and theaters of the city; 29 rooms and 2 junior suites all with bath or shower , air conditioning, Satellite TV, VHS videoplayer, telephone; in the hotel is available buffet breakfast, american bar, terrace with panoramic view, meeting room, internet point, video-library.

Easy to reach either by car, with private garage available; or train: station Porta al Serraglio at 250 meters away; and only a few steps from the bus stop of piazza delle Carceri.

HISTORY
The Flora has opened on 4th April 1955, by Mario Tomada and his wife Foenna Caciotti; she is the daughter of the owners of the Hotel Restaurant Stella dItalia, located in piazza Duomo, opened since 1895 and closed in May 2001, there, where taken place some of the most important events happened in town until the end of the sixtiees.

The tradition and the experience transferred into the renovation of the Palace Martelli was the base of an elegant and pleasant hotel, with all comforts needed from the Guests coming to Prato either for tourism or business.

Today, as in the past, the Flora, still managed by Rodolfo Tomada, mantains his distintiveness, and always placing the attention to the Client as the main action.

*DESCRIPTION in ENGLISH (...MANDATORY!): La Nievolina is a self catering holidays rental villa in Tuscany with private swimming pool, exactly halfway between Florence and Lucca in the hills close to Montecatini Terme.

The villa, which has been rented online since 1997, is surrounded by 3 hectares of olive trees and can host up to 9 guests (10 with an extra bed). La Nievolina is the perfect lodging solution for families with children and party of friends looking to easily visit the best art cities, towns and natural spots in Tuscany and rest and relax in a very comfortable way.

The villa is set in nature, in the Tuscan hills, but not far from restaurants, trattorias and shops and it has been chosen for being situated so close to the Lucca's historic centre (just 25 minutes by car) and from Florence's historic centre (just 35 minutes by car or 45 by train).

The closest town is Montecatini Terme famous worldwide for the thermal baths and the closest golf course in Monsummano Terme is just 10 minutes away by car.
The villa is also 35 minutes drive from the seaside (Viareggio beaches), 45 minutes from Pisa and just 90 minutes from Siena and the Chianti area.

The villa can accommodate up to 9 (10 with extra bed)
The villa is rented weekly and is the best accommodation for groups of friends and families with children (fenced garden). A washing machine, 2 full equipped kitchens, 4 bathrooms will let you spend your holidays in a very comfortable way. We also have a complete technological equipment (sat tv, internet...) to really feel at home away from home.

SWIMMING POOL
The pool is above ground but is set among olive trees and gives you the opportunity to have a wonderful view of the valley.
It's length (7 meters) and width (3.5 meters) are enough to host parties of 8 and is usually warmed by the sun on hot days allowing you to have a magic sensation when you get in.
The sun terrace next to the pool will let you enjoy your stay, suntanning and relaxing.
The pool and the sun terrace are next to the villa so all you have to do is... relax.
The pool is opened form the middle of June until the middle of September.

CHILDREN FRIENDLY
Yes! We take care of your children and we want their holiday to be an experience to remember.
- The garden around the villa is completely fenced so they can play freely.
- We provide our little guests with table games as well as outdoor games
- Up to 3 baby cots available free of charge

- in the park, near the swimming pool and the badminton area, there are seats and tables for them.
- the "Cartoon Network" and our cartoon videos will surely make them happy!

SPORT and FUN
At the villa you'll be able to spend your holidays rest and relaxing on the hammock, suntanning by the pool, reading one of the books of our English library or you can practice your favourite sport.

- Golf : the course is located in a hilly area close to the ancient house of Leonardo da Vinci. Small greens with difficult lines present the major difficulties. Click here for details and pictures

- Tennis: we've got 2 tennis courts 5 minutes away and tennis clubs in Montecatini Terme.
If you're a tennis player but you don't want to bring your raquets along with you just let me know the grip size and I'll provide 2 raquets and 10 tennis balls for your matches.
If you would like to play tennis but don't have a companion in your party I'll be more than happy to be your sparring partner.

- Ping Pong: we have a professional ping pong table. We provide rackets and balls.

- Badminton: we also have a non-professional badminton court set among the olive trees. It's the ideal spot for children and adults. We provide raquets and balls.

- Bikes rentals: it's now possible to rent bikes (city bikes and mountain bikes) for your holidays at the villa. Minimum rental is a week per bike.
Please note that bikes need to be booked prior to your arrival, please inform us at least 60 days before the rental begins.

- fishing lake: Do you enjoy fishing? If you do rest and relax by the lake wich is just 5 minutes away from the villa.

- Bocce (bowls): you can play this famous Italian and French game at the villa.

The villa is just 10 min. drive from the train station, there you'll be able to take the trains (2/3 per hour) leaving for downtown Florence (35/45 minutes away). All the art cities and medieval villages are less than 1 hour away. You can plan your trip to be able to see all the best art cities. Montecatini Terme's spa and parks and the medieval village of Montecatini Alto, and its panorama on the valley, are just 5 minutes away. We've got tennis, golf, pool and everything you need in a short drive.

HISTORY
The villa has belonged to my family since the end of the 19th century and was completely restored in 1996, we have always hosted our best friends and clients in this property allowing them to reach Florence, but almost all the beauties of Tuscany, within a hour.
We started renting it in 1997 and our guests come from all over the globe and some of them come back again every year.

DESCRIPTION OF THE VILLA
La Nievolina" is a lovely villa with swimming pool set among the Tuscan hills close to Florence, Lucca and Pisa and to all best spots in Tuscany. The villa is rented weekly (saturday/saturday) all year long and is equipped with all the best comforts and furnished in a old Tuscan style.

It can accommodate up to 9 guests (10 with extra bed) and has a patio, porch and gardens for playing, suntanning, resting and relaxing.
We've got sunbeds and chairs all along the park which is mown to let you walk or jog around.

PRIVATE TUSCAN COOKING LESSONS
We have had so many requests to hold private tuscan cooking lessons at the villa that we've decided to team with a Florentine enoteca and her cook Francesca.

WINE LOVERS
We now offer our guests guided wine tasting in the best Florentine enotecas and guided visits to the best Tuscan wine makers.

HOW TO REACH US
Getting to the "La Nievolina" is easy. We're close to the highway and the train station of Montecatini Terme, both about 10 minutes away by car. The Thermal Spa is reachable in few minutes taking the panoramic road to Montecatini
We provide road and city maps, tourists guides, trains schedules, brochures of the area to help you plan your tour around.
The villa is next to the small village of Nievole, less than a mile, where you can find the church, a post office, some restaurants and a little food store. Montecatini Alto, a lovely medieval village at the top of a hill, is just less than 2 miles far away from the Villa, on the panoramic road to Montecatini Terme. It's known for the fantastic view overlooking all the valley almost up to the seaside and for some lovely shops and restaurants.
